Half a Year

I cannot believe Ally will be 6 months old this week. She is growing up even faster than the boys. Maybe it just feels like it because her first 6 months has been easier than the train-wreck that was the first 6 months with twins as a first-time mom. Regardless, I feel like I mostly post about Keith and Cole and am therefore dedicating this post to my little girl.
Ally is the happiest little baby. Whenever I go get her from her bed, she squeals with excitement and smiles a mile wide. She also kicks her arms and legs in a way that reminds me of a cross between Richard Simmons' jumping jacks and the "Running Man" retro dance move. I can't help but pick her up and kiss her to death.
What Ally lacks in coordination, she makes up for in personality. She is incredibly social. She cranes her neck to watch the action, wherever it may be. She absolutely will not sleep anywhere but her bed because she is so distracted by all the living around her. And if she knows there is a party going on, she will not sleep. Whether it be playgroup or the Super Bowl party, she is in on the action. But even if she doesn't sleep, she's still pleasant. She can be a little fiesty when she doesn't like something (ie: mom attacking her with a nasal aspirator) or when she really wants something (ie: food, attention), but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it. I respect a girl with a bit of an attitude. Fortunately, it's rare that anything really ruffles her.

I realized this week that I have very few pictures of the two of us together and so I attempted to take some myself. It didn't turn out great, but at least I have proof that I am her mom.

Ally continues to take "steamrollers", punches, whacks and all other physical abuse remarkably well. She actually seems to enjoy the boys talking nose-to-nose with her and licking her head. Who knew? I have drawn the line at the new game of throwing toys at her head. Once Keith throws a toy and gets put in his room, wouldn't you know that Cole throws a toy at her head so he can get in trouble too? Awesome. Will I ever come out on top with these two?

I honestly will not bat a single eyelash the first time she takes revenge on her brothers. In fact, I'll probably be cheering her on.

Ally has a special spot for her dad. Whenever he is in the room, she turns every which way so she can get a visual on him. I came home from running last week to find them "jumping" together. Brent was jumping rope in the garage and had the door open so he could watch her jump in her bouncer. When he would jump, so would she. It was hysterical. I had to get a picture of their first training session together. She's going to have to get in shape if she's going to take on her older brothers.
