3 under 2

As in 3 children under the age of 2.

As in 3 children in diapers for at least 1 year.

As in my future--my very near future, apparently.

Funny story...

3 weeks ago I went in for an ultrasound to determine my due date. Sadly, I honestly had no idea when this little miracle might be making an appearance. I had recently discovered I was pregnant (yikes!) and assumed that I was at most 12 weeks along. The ultrasound tech laughed when I told her how far along I thought I was. The conversation went like this...

Me: Wow! That baby looks big.
Tech: You said you thought you were how far along?
Me: I think about 12 weeks.
Tech: (laughs) Hmmmm...you're a little further than that.
Silence...
Me: Really? Like how far along? How far is 'a little further'?
More silence while Tech calculates the measurements. After what seems like FOREVER...
Tech: (more chuckles) You're almost 17 weeks. Would you like to know the gender?
Me: (In my head: WHAT?!! How could I not have known?!!! I must be some type of serious bonehead.) Outloud: Uhhh. You can tell me that already? Right now?
................................

Obviously, I was dying to know but Brent wasn't with me since I had no idea we would be able to find out the gender. So, like a good wife I decided to wait until my next ultrasound so the father of our baby could witness such a momentous event.
Yeah, right.
The thought of waiting for him flitted through my brain, but honestly, I had to know! Plus, Brent is really good about stuff like that and I knew he would have wanted me to find out. So, we're having a girl! She should be here sometime in mid-August.

Surprise!

While, we obviously did not plan this, we couldn't feel more blessed. When life is a little hectic these next few months (and years), I must remember that at one point we weren't sure we would have any children. So, we're incredibly grateful to be able to have 3 (even if they are all under age 2.)

Darcee, I am so excited for you! Congratulations!!!...and I'm with Cami, I wish I could not know I'm pregnant until it's about half over with. Guess that should give some idea of how insane things are for you. Girls are the BEST (unless you have boys, then they are)!

Congrats!!! That is awesome to go through that much of pregnancy and not know it. For the most part they can't bug you so much. :) Girls are so much fun. I have a friend with 4 under the age of 4, so I think that you will do fine. You are a great mom and have a wonderful family who would drop everything to help you out. My brother and his wife find out what their baby in next week, they are due in July as well, #3.

YAY! Congratulations! I bet you never thought you'd have 3 under 2. Oi ve!! :) If there's anyone that can do it, it's you. Maybe by then the two boys will be super protective of their little sis. And what a nice surprise to know you're that far along! YIPPEE!

AT LEAST even with 3 under 2, girls are easier than boys, and one is easier than two. So the baby part will be easier than the first time around...except you will have two in the "Terribles" stage...maybe not. HAHA. GOOD LUCK!!

You're going to do such a great job with 3 kids under 2! I'm not worried at all. And you'll have extra help from me whenever you need it! You look amazing by the way. The latest pics you put up of you on your blog you did not look pregnant at all and you're more than half way along!

OK, so I'm looking back at the picture of you in the O'Smart post and figuring you were about 4 months along--where's the baby bump? No wonder it was a surprise. Check out Anna's pics, she's due August 4 and appears a little more "showing"! I'm so excited for you to have a girl--they're so much fun when they're little. Watch out for the tween years, though!

Congrats! That is so lucky to be that far along! I would never get that far along without having a very close relationship with my toilet! I bet she is going to be beautiful!

Nice work and congratulations! We are so excited to see that there is yet another one. I hope we get a chance to see you all for the Johnson reunion in August.
And by the way, your Gazette is global now because we stay tuned here in Jordan.

Congratulations Darc!!!!! I've tried to comment twice now in the last week in a half, but my kiddos haven't let me finish.

Unbelievable. I really don't have the words to describe all of the feelings I have for what you must be going through right now. = ) Probably feelings on both sides of the spectrum...

I am SOOOOO excited she's a GIRL!!! Just think, Brent can take the boys out hunting and you and your little girl can go shopping and to the spa, just the two of you. You're family is already so dang cute, but after you pop her out, you will look like a Ralph Lauren ad. = )

Congratulations. We're happy for you.
