As a precursor to my sister Syd's wedding festivities, Brent and I decided to take a family vacay to San Diego. We had high hopes for the boys at the beach and especially for Sea World.

The first night at the beach, the boys cried every time we tried to get them to walk on the sand in bare feet. At least by the 3rd day, they were running all over the beach and having a blast. We couldn't get them off the beach or keep them from tasting the sand.

Sea World didn't exactly thrill the boys like we anticipated. They love animals, especially sharks, turtles and fish, so we thought it would be a perfect way to spend a vacation day. Well, after dropping $200 for entrance fees, parking and lunch, the animals that excited the boys the most were the seagulls in the parking lot and the ducks eating the lunch leftovers under the picnic table. I'm confident we could have managed those thrills for free, but at least Brent and I had fun.

The pinnacle of our day, the Shamu show, "Believe" was sure to be a crowd pleaser. Sadly, Cole fell asleep and Keith was mostly unimpressed with jumping, splashing killer whales.
At least it was fun to have some family time before we met up with everyone for Snick's wedding. I didn't get any pictures because Brent and I were literally running ragged for 3 days of festivities. We came home thoroughly exhausted from chasing the boys around fancy restaurants, the temple grounds and the reception hall. But everything was perfectly beautiful and I can't wait to round up and post some pics!

Ahh, the best laid plans...Nice try, though! Great pics of the wedding on the family page, so you can just refer people there! Once again, I can't quite see where you're keeping that little girl of yours! You just look so darn cute!
I think the next vacay should include a visit of the DC squirrel colony living outside my back door. The boys would love it and you only have to pay for the flight! Love the pics! Now I know why they boys were so grumpy at Snick's wedding:)
Vacationing is never the same with kids as it was before. Running ragged, trying to find a nap time, dealing with the tempers that come from not having naps, trying to find food they will eat...the Seattle wedding for us was the same story. Gotta love parenthood! Loved seeing your in-laws though. It was a highlight.
Looks like you guys had a fun family get-away. Congratulations on number 3! We are also having a girl in September...number three. People think I'm crazy but a well.
THat's always how it is, the things like a box are more fun to look at than the actual present. I bet the wedding was beautiful!!! How are you feeling?
aaaahhh yes....this experience sounds a lot like my wonderful experience at the Portland zoo with Sean's fam:) Trying to explain to them that isaac would probably end up out ofhis stroller within 2 minutes and that he'd run all over the place not noticing ANY animals, didn't work. So, off to the zoo we went, and sure enough, my day was blaaaaaaaah. :O) Gotta love it! I've thought MANY times "Would Isaac REALLY appreciate this?" before taking him to Thomas the Train or Sesame Street Live, and both times I figured, NOPE. Maybe next year! The boys are soo soo cute!
Beautiful! I always wanted to see Shamu, the closest I've ever been to something that big is when I look in the mirror. We're so glad that you guys are doing so good. Congrats on number 3! We're excited to see you guys and the kids this summer.
