Being the tenderhearted person that he is, Keith feels that all the "snow people" should have a song about them. Therefore, he has been singing the "Once There Was a Snowman" song about every snow character out there...Snow baby, Snow boy, Snow girl...pretty much everyone except Snowman. I think it's his way of showing his political correctness.
I also caught him singing a "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" solo in the tub Saturday night. He affectionately calls it the "tree song". Don't ask. I have no answer. Anyway, his version went like this:
We Wish You a Merry Christmas
We Wish You a Merry Christmas
We won't go 'til we get some
Now bring me some Piggy pudding
Now bring me some Piggy pudding
We wish you a Merry Christmas
I'm pretty sure those are the original lyrics. What's a figgy anyway?
(You may notice a theme in these pictures. We've been spending a LOT of time at the Children's Museum. Keith is heartbroken every time we leave.)

Over dinner tonight Brent attempted to convince his sons of their rank order in our home.
Brent: I'm the boss in this house, boys.
Cole: No, I'm the boss, Dad.
Brent: No, Cole. I'm the boss of you. I'm the boss of Keith and I'm the boss of Ally. Mom is the boss of me."
Cole: I'm the King, Dad.
Brent (recovering): I'm the Boss-King.
Cole: I want to be the Boss-King.
Brent: I'm the Boss-King and you and Keith are pawns.

When Brent named Cole and Keith "pawns", it did not go well. And then of course when he told them Ally was a princess it was all over. Cole just had to have that coveted Princess title. Father and Son compromised and Cole and Keith ended the evening as Princes. I'm pretty sure Cole still thinks he's King or Boss-King or whatever you want to call the man in charge.

Ally doesn't say many words but she makes up for it in sheer yell-volume. She also does a LOT of pointing and says "Hi" to EVERYONE. No matter where we are, she continues to say "Hi" until the person with whom she is speaking, says "Hi" in return. I think she desperately wants to be a part of every conversation and that is the only way she knows how. I don't really have an explanation for the pointing but her noise-level is easy to explain. If you want to be heard at our house you have to yell. And it has to be loud. It didn't take long for her to figure that out.

Sooo cute Darc, I can't wait to entertain the "boss-king, princes and princess" at the Smart castle to celebrate Christmas festivities. Heres to all of them feeling important in my life, especially for a daily much needed laugh!
They are sooo stinkin cute!!!!! I love the pointing! McKenna is still in the phase of having one volume.... loud (especially in church!) It looks like they have a blast at the children's museum! Merry soon to be Christmas!
To all the Snow People, Princes, Princesses, Boss-Kings, Kings, and Bosses: I love them all! I think I read this post 20 times and laughed out loud every time. Thanks for all the pics, I was about to send you another mean email.
I'm so glad Keith is learning some political correctness at your house!! i love the pics and maybe have already looked at them five times...this morning:)!! I can't wait to squeeze what every character they are at navidad. PS. Next time I come to Portland I want to go to the museum with you guys.
Darce, Anna's little guy does the double finger point...we're very proud of him! Love your little people (sorry Fisher Price). Someday if you're hanging at your mom's house, really bored, give me a call and I'll come play!
Oh my heck your kids are so stinkin cute!! I had to try not to laugh out loud because I am in the library. They sound like so much fun, Darc! Love you all!
Right back at ya Darcee...your family is adorable!!! I love getting a glimmer into your family and seeing what comedians and fun-loving advenuturers (is that a word?) your boys are and how much Aly is like our little Maggie and wishing we lived close to you guys again.
haha darcee your kids are so funny. they always make me laugh and a picture of ally will always make me smile and say "awwww" :) haha
K, I am constantly laughing at your blog. Your boys are too funny. I love Brent and Cole's convo! And as always Ally is so pretty:) Great post
Oh my gosh, your kids are so cute! OK, so you asked how I get my kids to smile and look at the camera when we take pictures... I had to laugh at that! It's called total bribery. My kids know when we go to the portrait studio or get family pictures that they get McDonalds if they are really, really good. They will do ANYTHING for a happy meal. Also, I take a million pictures of everything. Then we're bound to get at least 1 useable photo. Seriously, the last time we did family pictures we took 78 pictures, and only 1 turned out good... but that's all I needed. =) Good luck. I know it isn't fun.
Love-Shanna
